INCLINE BENCH PRESS
Build Upper Body Strength
Looking to build a stronger upper body and add some variety to your workout? The Incline Bench Press is a fantastic way to target your upper chest, shoulders and triceps while building strength and muscle. Unlike a flat bench press, the angled position places more emphasis on your upper chest muscles, making it a great addition to your strength training routine.
Whether you’re looking to improve your pushing power, build muscle or simply mix up your upper-body workout, the Incline Bench Press has you covered!
How does it work?
-
Start by adjusting the seat so the handles or bar are positioned around your upper chest, and select a comfortable weight.
-
Sit with your back firmly against the pad, feet flat on the floor and hands gripping the handles or bar slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
-
Push the weight upwards in a controlled movement without locking your elbows, then slowly lower it back towards your upper chest.
Keep your core engaged and avoid arching your back throughout the exercise. If you’re using a free-weight barbell, use a spotter or appropriate safety supports. Start light, focus on good technique and get ready to give your upper body a boost.
