PE@PF Core Class Gym

MORE THAN ABS, MORE THAN AN AFTERTHOUGHT

Here’s a myth worth busting: core work is not a warm-up, a filler, or something you tack on if there’s time left at the end of a session. Treat it that way and you’ll always be undertraining one of the most-used muscle groups you have.

Your abdominals, obliques and lower back aren’t just “the abs.” They’re what let you twist without tweaking your back, brace when you lift something heavy, and stay upright and steady through basically every other exercise you do, legs, cardio, upper body, all of it.

Core gives that muscle group its own session instead of five rushed minutes at the end of someone else’s. You give your core its own moment, and the rest of your body will benefit.

What happens in a Core Class Planet Fitness

WHAT HAPPENS IN A CORE CLASS?

Core is built around focused, controlled movement.

Your PF trainer will guide the group through exercises designed to challenge the muscles through your abdominals, obliques and lower back. The exact format may vary by club and session, but the goal stays the same: helping you build strength and control through your middle.

You may use bodyweight exercises, mats, resistance equipment or functional training tools depending on what your trainer has planned. Some exercises may focus on holding steady. Others may involve rotation, balance, controlled movement or working through different positions.

The class may take place on the gym floor, in the functional training area or in the 30-minute workout space, depending on your club and timetable.

Your trainer will explain each movement, demonstrate the exercises and offer options if something feels too challenging.

WHO IS CORE CLASS FOR?

PF Burn is built around movement that keeps coming.

Your trainer leads the class through a cardio-focused workout that may include intervals, bodyweight movements, light weights, functional exercises or circuit-style stations. You might be stepping, running or squatting, with exercises including burpees, squat jumps, mountain climbers, kettle bell swings, and sit ups.

Classes may take place on the gym floor, in the functional training area or in the 30-minute workout space. Equipment may include kettlebells, dumbbells, weight plates, resistance bands, mini bands and more, depending on your club, timetable and what your trainer has planned.

The exact format can change from class to class, which helps keep things fresh. Some sessions may feel more interval-based, while others may feel more circuit-based. Either way, PF Burn is designed to keep you engaged, get you sweating and help you build cardio fitness over time.
